The London Regional Literacy Council consists of London Region co-ordinators, consultants and coaches with responsibilities for adolescent literacy (intermediate/senior). We support each other in our work to improve school and classroom practices related to literacy learning, and thereby improve student achievement. Our school boards share many common themes and ideas in literacy pillars of our proposed 2011-12 student achievement plans. The larger words in this wordle depict commonalities amongst our schools boards and, therefore, selected areas of focus for the London Regional Literacy Council in the 2011-2012 school year.

We explore:
- adolescent literacy;
- effective instructional practice in relation to adolescent literacy;
- the development of professional learning opportunities that change instruction;
- effective modelling for literacy learning intermediate/senior classrooms.

| Our 2011-12 Inquiry: How do we engage intermediate/senior teachers in explicitly teaching reading skills across the curriculum?
We are currently developing our theory of action in relation to this inquiry question.
